About Us

Forward Carers is an award-winning not-for-profit, Community Interest Company, we have been empowering unpaid Carers to live fulfilling lives since 2014. Our mission is to create Carer Friendly Communities where everyone can play a part in improving Carer wellbeing. We work in partnership with Commissioners, NHS and local authorities to provide support and services direct to Carers and we create Carer Friendly Communities, through our award-winning Carer Friendly Photo ID Card .

Carer Friendly Dorset

We are commissioned by Dorset Council and BCP Council to deliver the official Carer Friendly ID Card and discount scheme to Carers registered with their local Carer Information Service. Our Carer Friendly ID Card is recognised nationally and provides local, national and online discounts to Carers. Dorset Council and BCP Council fund the Carer Friendly ID Card for registered Carers across the county to:

  • Support Carers to remain Safe and Healthy
  • Recognise the contribution Carers make
  • Support the development of Carer Friendly Communities
